Dear Brothers and Sisters of the Gurung Community,

I extend my warmest greetings to each of you, wherever you may be in the world. As thePresident of the International Council of Gurung Buddhism, I am honored and privileged to address all Gurungs globally.

Our culture and spiritual heritage are the foundations of who we are. The rich traditions, values, and practices passed down through generations define our identity. Today, more than ever, we can unite through the common thread of our Gurung culture and the principles of Gurung Buddhism. As we continue to grow and prosper in different corners of the world, we must remember the values of unity, compassion, and respect that our culture and religion teach us. Let us unite, embracing the shared culture, customs, values, and spiritual practices that bind us. Our strength lies in our unity; by working hand in hand, we can preserve and promote our heritage for future generations.

Unity offers immense benefits by providing mutual support and building a global identity. It creates a platform for cultural exchange, ensuring that younger generations, especially those in the diaspora, remain connected to their roots. We can build strong networks that support economic, educational, and social development. It can collaborate on business ventures, share job opportunities, and support one another professionally or provide platforms for the younger generation to learn, share knowledge, and participate in leadership roles, ensuring community growth and engagement.

It creates a culture of mutual aid, where Gurung people across the world can support one another financially and socially. Together, the community can advocate for the rights and interests of the Gurung people, ensuring that we can achieve better representation in cultural, political, and social institutions. It helps to promote a sense of pride in being Gurung, creating solidarity among members worldwide.

I call upon every Gurung, whether in the homeland or the diaspora, to participate actively in keeping our cultural values and religion alive. Join us in celebrating our festivals, supporting our initiatives, and fostering an environment of mutual respect and understanding Through unity and collaboration, we can ensure that the beauty of Gurung culture and the wisdom of Gurung Buddhism continue to flourish worldwide.
